Within the Prietenia Association, therapeutic activities are carried out in a person-centered approach and inspired by the values of respect, dignity, rhythm of life and harmonious development. We aim to support each beneficiary in developing autonomy, self-confidence and active participation in the community, capitalizing on each person’s own potential and resources.
In the spirit of Waldorf pedagogy and a holistic-integrative approach, we aim for the balanced development of will, feeling and thinking, through activities that combine creativity, movement, relationships and practical experiences.
Occupational therapy
Through occupational therapy, beneficiaries develop the skills necessary for a more independent life. Practical and creative activities stimulate fine motor skills, attention, patience, perseverance and responsibility. In our workshops, activities such as weaving on a loom, making bracelets and decorative objects, preparing tea and spice blends, drawing, modeling and household activities are carried out. Each activity is adapted to the possibilities of the beneficiary and aims to develop a sense of usefulness, confidence in one’s own abilities and the joy of creating with the perspective of integration into the labor market.
Social therapy
Social therapy contributes to the development of communication and relationship skills, as well as active integration into the community. Beneficiaries participate in group activities, community outings, shopping, walks, excursions and cultural events. Through these experiences, they learn to make decisions, respect rules, collaborate and assume responsibilities, developing their autonomy and sense of belonging to the community.
Dance and music therapy
Music and movement play an essential role in emotional and social development. Dance and karaoke activities stimulate coordination, expressiveness, vocational skills, attention and communication. At the same time, these activities reduce emotional tension, increase self-esteem and offer beneficiaries the opportunity to express themselves in a natural and creative way.
Therapeutic sensory play therapy
Sensory games stimulate perception through colors, textures, shapes, sounds and movement. These activities develop attention, concentration, coordination and emotional regulation, being adapted to the level and needs of each beneficiary. Sensory exploration contributes to a better knowledge of one’s own body and the environment and supports cognitive and motor development.
Meditation and relaxation
Moments of meditation and relaxation complete the therapeutic program through breathing exercises, guided relaxation, visualization, listening to soothing music and moments of reflection. These activities contribute to calming emotions, reducing stress and developing inner balance. In a setting that encourages calm and tranquility, beneficiaries learn to become aware of their emotions and develop their ability to self-regulate.
Philosophy of therapeutic activities
At Asociația Prietenia we believe that every person has the right to a dignified, active and meaningful life. The therapies aim not only to develop practical skills, but also to cultivate trust, authentic relationships, creativity and the joy of participating in community life. In a warm and welcoming environment, each beneficiary is encouraged to discover their resources, express their personality and take steps towards a more independent life.
